Disclaimer: I am not intending to throw shade at these people; I am just sharing my perception of their content as someone out of the first-year baby fog. My goal is to raise awareness for the vast and variable differences across the motherhood experience and how I have perceived different tones of motherhood content. Try not to be offended!

Let me be clear on the perspective of this article - I only use Instagram, Tiktok momfluencers do not play into my point of view. Now that my son is 16 months, I feel like I can pick up clearly on what irks me about certain types of mom content, versus what made/makes me feel supported.

These mom/new mom content creators might share a lot about their coffee and/or coffee machine(s), so clearly they are tired, but we also see them cleaning out the closet, exercising with their trainers, going on dates with their husbands, having time with friends, investing time in their business(es) etc.

I am by no means coming for this; in fact, I commend this! That is the type of support and comfort so many women dream of and wish for around their postpartum experience. But, for many of us, this isn’t attainable.
